I have a 2005 goldwing and this spring the battery was dead and would not hold a charge. I got another battery and every time I turn the key to the on position the main fuse (30) blows right away. I have run out of ideas if anyone can help with suggestions - Thanks

Not meant to be captain obvious here, but is the positive terminal on the right side as you're facing the battery?

Because it sounds like the polarity is reversed, and it's happened before.

Ya I’ve triple checked that - iam thinking it may have to do with the alternator or starter but iam at a total loss

Starter, no. A shorted starter motor will blow a fuse, but only after you hit the start switch ( unless stuck relay, not likely). Blown diode in alternator, possible. Calling @techdude2000

Are any other fuses blown or blowing? If it was the alternator, it would blow the 100A fuse. I also replied to your post on the Tech Board.
