Bolt under name plate inside nose air scoop

I'm mechanically challenged. While washing the Wing I noticed the bolt in question was loose. I didn't have a wrench that size so tried to turn it with a pair of pliars but it didn't seem to want to tighten up. While riding, I could hear a vibration - the bolt had backed off. That bolt seems to be holding down a bracket but I haven't a clue what it's for. I bought an 8mm wrench to tighter it up but I can't get it tight. Did I stop turning it too soon or is there another reason it doen't tighten down? Actually, is it supposed to be tight?

Not sure if this is the one that you are talking about, but there is a bolt the holds down a flat black piece of plastic that covers the track of the windshield behind the nose. Break the mirrows over and you'll find a bolt on each side, take them out and the bottom part pops out. Be careful taking the side bolts out, there is a couple of washers and rubber bushings in there.
That bolt is part of the windshield ratchet system and isn't that tight, as the windshield has to go up and down easily.
It is the self destruct bolt. Turn clockwise to explode and counterclockwise to implode. It balances the crushwasher forces with the blinker fluid reservoir.

Harrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.
Could not wiat for April 1.

NOPE

The lower "Holder Bracket" bolt is indeed Tight.
The SCREW (#47) holds the "cover" (#4) in place and should be tight.

Thanks for the break out picture, sure did help me. My mechanic said there was a loose nut behind the windshield. I have been looking and looking and don't spot it.

If anyone out there could help, I would appreciate it.

Thank you in advance

Look a little further behind the windshield, right above the seat.

Edit that to say SCREW #47..... look again above. A bolt that takes an 8mm wrench would not be that one, but under the cover. Here's more...

Actually, I think the 8mm bolt in question could be part #54 that goes thru part #9. and it is to be "tight"

KA7W,

you crack me up.... ....

Your "Wit" is on top!

Cheers to you man! Hope to meet you soon.
I imagine it's beside the flight line and behind the prop wash too!!! Check the muffler bearing while you're in there!
How about this nut..............looks loose to me. Sorry KA7W, you just opened the door and I closed it............

Thanks everyone for their comments. I'm still not sure if it's a screw or bolt but I'm going to turn it until it's tight. I have a Tulsa w/shield so there's no reason for it to be loose . . . I think . . . and hope.
