I notice a light grinding sound from the front brake when I push the bike. But I think that does not happen after the bike is ridden. Is this a cold brake issue that can only be heard at very low speed (1 mph)?

Disc brakes never retract from the rotor surface, unless you've got a warped rotor and it pushes them back in. If the rotor's warped, you would feel a pulsing in the hand brake lever. Brake pads always will make a slight swooshing sound. If your's is a grinding sound, I'd look at the pads and rotors for problems.
