I use silicone disc brake lube with good results, if using disc brake quiet, make sure it is completely dry before install. I have seen numerous caliper piston dust seals ruined because of this product - installed wet and seals adhere to backing of pad.

i've used disc brake quiet paste without any trouble

at first it seemed to cure the squeaky brake problem but eventualy the squeak came back

i always thought the squeak was coming from the front brakes but at 200,000 miles i put on a new rear rotor and caliper, the squeak seems to be gone now

Anyone ever use the "disc brake quiet" stuff on the backing plate of their pads before install? Thanks in advance
No, Never needed it.
