I am getting a lot of static from my C.B. radio I have tighten all the bolts is their any other area that needs to be looked at. How can I get a better ground. I have a 2013 with Nav.

There is a grounding strap that goes from the CB antenna to a ground point. That can be cracked/broken at times.

Eons ago on this forum, there were some photos of this issue.

In general, however, there will be 'static' if the radio is receiving no signal at all - unless the squelch function is turned up (as Tex-Ed) mentions above.

Test time: See if there's a significant change in 'static' with the motorcycle engine running, and again with the engine off.

Report results at the conclusion of the test.

there is also an internal ground inside the base of the antenna... It will require knocking out the little pin at the antenna base, pushing the coax up and spreading the "fingers" of the ground connection. That's what was wrong with mine - no static anymore... It was written up here some time ago - maybe someone van find that old post...
