Because I am a cheap ba&%@#d and will not pay the stealer for work that I can do myself:

The pic is what was used very successfully to release the cam chain tension for the right bank to remove the cam for changing shims.


The left side valves were all in spec at 35,000miles, but the right side needed five shims to bring it back into spec. This made me think that perhaps on the assembly line that different folks work different sides!!!!

You sure tore the bike down a whole lot further than I do when I swap shims or place the tool on the right bank. But getting it done is getting it done.

Pigeon Roost,

I had to remove the front right crash guard to remove the valve cover because of an encounter with a dodge ram truck!!
