can you repair the inside of a helmet

I have a perfectly good Arai but the padding is nearly gone. the helmet is nearly three years old, I ride about 20,000 miles a year. These are too expensive to replace so soon, any suggestions on repairing or rebuilding the padding.
thanks for your imput.

Can you not contact them and obtain a replacement liner and/or the padding . Most high end helmets do have these items for replacement. The symax, Nolan, shoei, I would assume that one would too, never had one, but do know they are a high end price helmet also.

I did get a new liner put into my Hondaline color matched helmet but had to agree to a no-liability clause. It was installed by Bell, who made the helmets orginally. The issue with older helmets was that technology changes, and we don't want to be responsible for you wearing an out-of-date helmet. It doesn't meet current safety standards. I believe that 5 years was the limit on helmet life no matter how nice it looks. Something about micro-cracking.
Yes, Arai does have all the replacable parts on thier website for ordering..

Wing,

Any idea what caused the padding to go south so soon?

I have a mid-90's Arai with about 200,000 miles on it and the padding is in great shape, except for a little compression in the forehead area (probably from sweat).

I've always used a skull-cap with that helmet, however.
