I did get a new liner put into my Hondaline color matched helmet but had to agree to a no-liability clause. It was installed by Bell, who made the helmets orginally. The issue with older helmets was that technology changes, and we don't want to be responsible for you wearing an out-of-date helmet. It doesn't meet current safety standards. I believe that 5 years was the limit on helmet life no matter how nice it looks. Something about micro-cracking.
