This state forum doesn't seem to have much activity AT ALL, but here goes...

I just want to get a photo at the entrance to Canada without actually having to go through the crossing or deal with coming back into the US. Is is possible to do so at this border crossing?

I used to live in Pembina and knew many of the border people.

If you drive up to the entry area and pull aside of the lanes going through and talked to whoever comes out to see you that there would be no problem taking a picture.............if you are a suspicious looking person look forward to a real good search of your vehicle. It is not a place to play around though. Entry back to the North Dakota side should not be a problem.

Just my thoughts. If you create a problem, no not call me.

I don't have personal experience with the Pembina crossing but I asked the patrol at another crossing from ND a similar question and they told me that once I was at their station I was already"in Canada" and subject to their usual procedures. In fact, the agent thought it was an unusual request so he gave my bike and contents a good search and ran a security screening on me as well. YMMV, I suppose. :shrug:
