We just finished tallying the secret ballots to include all absentee ballots. The results are final!

After much thought and discussion, the Cats-Cade folks decided that we needed a Sheriff for the Days "INN" evening activities. The criteria for this position was extremely stringent. We felt that the person to fill this position would have to have "Demonstrated ability" and experience in the duties required for this position.

The final list of Candidates was long. Picking the most qualified was difficult. In the end, it became apparent, that we had a clear winner. A person that has demonstrated his knowledge, abilities and dedication to the task at hand.

Our new Sheriff has "large shoes, to fill", to meet our expectation.

Our candidate ran under the "Pub"lican party. His duties require him to maintain Peace, Quiet, and proper Social Skills amongst all the Cats-Cade revellers in the Days "Inn" facility, during evening festivities.

The New Sheriff's salary was $10,000 for the event. He so graciously donated his complete salary to the Sullivan County Recovery center. What a Sheriff.

Term of Duty runs from the first visit till the last visit at the "Inn", of any Cats-Cade '07 guest.

Without further ado, Ladies and Gentlemen. Let me announce our new Sheriff to one and all! Please join me in welcoming him as well!

"Sheriff Wheels" We are honored by your Victory in the election and your giving of yourself and salary, so unselfishly!

Welcome !!!

Oh no!! I can see it now. Wheels is going to have light and siren mounted on his chair. He'll be blasting up and down the hallways and pulling people over in the lobby.

I forgot to mention a little thing.

Sheriff Wheels will be mostly working "undercover". Here in NY State it is not only acceptable, but expected that one buys a drink for our UC. This could work out favorably, should an infraction take place.

Here in NY, we just consider graft as an acceptable business practice, as well a business expense.

So if you recognize the Sheriff, even though he will most likely be dressed incognito, insist that he have a drink with you!

Well, sorry for the delay in responding. The darn temp got up to 50 here in Maryland so out I went. Looks like I should have stayed in, however.

Well, after pondering on my acceptance speech, I now feel ready to offer a few words. Actually, maybe I better not, given that I know what happened to PFB and a few others that did not chose their words carefully here. I suspect that I might be better off, just say THANKS BD and I will owe ya one for sure.

Yes, my career in law enforcement has exposed me to certain situations where tough decisions were in order. Thus I am prepared to properly react to all those that plan to "skirt" (HEDO, are these on your list of things to order?), the LAW. There will be proper enforcement techniques in use, and every effort will be made to sample. . . uugh, I mean, inspect any and all substances that might be brought into the Days Inn, or the camp ground (did I mention I have long arms.)

Me and old Sheriff Arpaio have a lot in common. We both support having Law Breakers wear pink underwear and tell bedtime stories. Most of this will be done out at the camp grounds.

Dawg, I am ready! Let me just dig out a few items to see if they still fit.

So Far so good!

The Local DA, has certified our "New Sheriff" and the election and appointment is official.

I fully expect everyone to show full respect to our "Sheriff" and show him respect and appreciation, by demanding that he accept and have an adult beverage with all at the bar.

We want to show "Wheels" a little NY hospitality, and appreciation for his office!

I here by nominate JMAC-FIFE as the official deputy ( I even carry a bullet in my pocket)

As such I will be under cover ( or under a bar stool ) in the saloon.

Any one causing trouble in the saloon will get the manager arrested and removed form the premises

Anyone causing trouble outside the saloon will be escorted to the saloon and given the usual fine...........one Capt Morgan & Coke ( some folks may get arrested several times in an hour) payable to deputy Jmac-Fife or Sheriff Wheels (Sheriff Wheels may inflict a stronger penalty, a penalty of his choosing

Dawg like a old southern boy would say putting wheels in charge is like letting the fox guard the hen house. The cold weather must be affecting your judgment

Yes, every Sheriff needs a good Deputy, and applications will be accepted, reviewed closely, and then judged on color, taste, and aroma all the while looking for the right "proof" of their authenticity. 8)

I know this job will not be an easy one, given the likes of some of these crafty characters that will be on hand for this great event, but I plan to put myself into training to be ready.

And Sassy, by all means can you be a Deputy. After all, I need someone to help me keep an eye on all of this.

I need to check with HEDO about the Pink Underwear. My guess is we are going to need a lot of them, along with a few good books for story time.

Sheriff Wheels,

Be careful on your Deputy selection process. You will get many applications. Many will want the notoriety. But few will want to do the work....LOL

I question whether you really need a Deputy? I think that you are plenty strong enough to handle this lil job all on your own.

Now, something a little hard to discuss. The park is covered, I don't want to see you and the Admiral (and her helper) get in a turf war. You step on the Admirals toes, I would bet that you wish you hadn't. Besides you will be out of your Jurisdiction and might find yourself floating in the pond, waiting for court....>LOL

Whooo, glad I got that over with.

Congrats. However the pension plan sucks and you dont get a normal 2 week warning for being fired. Other than that your good to go. About 3:00am you need to do a door check, take your night stick and knock on everybodys door.
