I just put on a handheld Midland cb and have been told I have a little squeal when I transmit. Where and how does a filter go on to stop this and where can I get one for this radio for my trike ??
FireEater,
It will help some if you try to isolate the source of the squeal. Remove the CB from the trike and any external wiring and see if you still have the noise; if so it's in the CB not the bike.

If no squeal, start connecting the CB back to the bike (not running) check for the squeal. If no squeal, crank the bike check again for the squeal. If no squeal then try with bike at highway speeds.

If I had to guess, I would suspect that some of your wiring (headset/power) is picking up alternator noise. If you are hardwired for power, an old CBer's solution was to run a shielded cable (antenna type cable) direct to the battery; battery served as a filter.

Good Luck!
