When I bought the Wing and had my "Honda Bucks" to spend I went toward safety items. I couldn't see spending a grand on a CB, which I realize is a safety item, because 99% of the time I ride alone. I did a 425 mile ride to Baltimore and back a couple of weeks ago and a CB would have been nice. I still cannot afford to sink a grand into a CB and am wondering if there are less expensive alternatives. I know you get what you pay for .... there has to be something decent for a few hundred bucks. What say ye? (I did a search but things change rapidly on the technology front)

Gl2way is a little cheaper than a honda cb. Neither are 1000.00. There was a new honda cb for sale in the classified this weekend.

The GL2Way system is the way to go IMHO. Cheaper than the Hondaline setup and has more features/functions. Plus, the Customer Service from BikeMP3 is beyond reproach. :yes1::yes1:

And while I have been a advocate of a separate CB antenna, I am intriqued by Wayne's (http://www.sierra-mc.com/ ) explanation of his single antenna.
I intend to explore this if I change bikes again.
I would also consider the Bikemp3 player if you like music.

While on the subject of CB radio, has anyone come up with an alternative to the OEM for the 2012?
As mentioned in the previous 3-4 posts--Look at the GL2Way. I posted a link to the web site earleir.

I bought the Honda 2012 CB from Dallas Honda for $575. Installed in 20 minutes (antenna was already installed)...

On their web site it clearly states that the GL2Way only supports models from 2001 - 2010. I was asking about 2012.
Looks like the OEM CB has changed between the 2001-2010 and the '12 model

HO08E95MCA100A - Fits 2001-2010 Model GL1800
HO08E95MCA100B - Fits 2012 Model GL1800

Contact Pedro66 via PM and ask him.
