I have had both. One in the Goldwing and another in a Honda Odyssey. They appear exactly the same when looking at the unit itself, but it is the cable that is different. The connector from the auto's has a male plug in, while the Goldwing's is a female connector. This has been discussed for the last 5 years and no one to date has come up with an adaptor that would allow the much less expensive automobile's changer to be used in the Goldwing.

My guess is that the case may look the same but the internal damping will be a lot more sophisticated.

I have had mine playing on some very bumpy roads and it does not skip tracks at all.

The plugs are no doubt reversed so you cannot install the wrong unit.

Mine doesn't skip at all either. But I'll bet they are exactly the same inside. Honda just likes charging a premium on the motorcycle stuff.
