Just got back from a weekend trip and the internal latch mechanism attached to the body of the trailer separated from the body. It appears that it was fibreglassed in place during construction and that was all that secured the mechanism. Has anyone had this happen and how did you fix it.

Pictures would be nice, but if you are talking about what I think you are,

Re-glass it,

You may have to drill a couple of holes in the top. Secure the mechanism with rubber backed metal washers on both sides of the lock should do the trick. The rubber, or a rubber grommet, to protect the fiberglass and keep it water tight. The metal washer to spread out the stresses.

Or some very serious adhesive!

Good luck.

Looks like you need to take the lock apart and secure the backplate to the trailer...
Lots of choices there but mechanical, bolts, would probably be the best.
