Can I get the filter oil filter out without taking floorboards off?
The book says to take front engine/fog light housing off, but cannot get to the screws on the side of housing because boards are in the way.

Assuming your talking about an 1800, you don't have to remove the front cowling. Just reach under the front of the engine and spin it off.

What wingwing said

Have used one for years and it sure says time and energy which is good as I'm getting more lazy in my younger days :biker:

Ditto wingwing and Mama Chicken.

And just in case you are wondering about jacking up a CSC with running boards.

Don, I am wondering. Is it a two person job to raise your trike or can you raise one end a little and then the other? It looks real stable once you have the lifting done.

Relative to filter wrenches, I use an appropriately sized strap filter wrench that I had for my old Ford Escort. Works great with no impact from leaving the cowl in place

I do it by myself. It's nice that the CSC differential is flat on the bottom.

I put the floor jack under the differential first and jack up the rear about 2-3", just enought to get the MC jack in position, then I raise it an inch more than the rear. Then I alternate about 2" at a time. Just takes a few minutes to do it carefully. When it's up, I put jack stands under the "A" arms and if it's in the way for what I need to do, I take out the floor jack.

It really make working on the trike easier. I even lift it to clean it. While up, I can check all the stuff underneath, e.g. nuts and bolts, screws, wires, etc.
