We have a old custom down here in south Louisiana. We build big bonfires on the top of the levee. This is to help guide Pere Noel (Santa Clause ) to the cajun childrens homes, because it foggy down on the bayous at night. Some of these bonfires can be very elaborate, from houses, airplanes, forts, big trucks,to ships. This photo is a firetruck. On Christmass Eve they will be set afire. People come to see the fires and a as all good coonasses do, a party soon breaks out. This photo was on the levee close to Gramercy,La. Merry Christmass to all.
