Chronology of a Wobble – Solved

Date Miles Item
05-07 00000 Purchased 2007 Nav Comfort ABS with Bridgestone tires. Absolutely no wobble
06-08 15031 Installed Champion Trike kit. At same time installed new front tire. Michelin Activ.
Installed new tire backwards. Immediately had a wobble at 25-30 mph both accelerating and decelerating. Front Tire at 41 psi.
06-08 15031 Changed front tire pressure to 36 psi. No change in wobble. Back to 41 psi.
08-08 21394 Installed EZ Steer. No change in wobble
03-01 28000 Re mounted Michelin Active to standard mount. Tire is showing some cupping
with 13k miles on it. No change in wobble.
03-09 28600 Installed fork extenders. No change in wobble.
04-09 29150 Michelin Activ shows plenty of tread but changed to a Bridgestone 130-70R18.
NO MORE WOBBLE.
04-09 32109 Just back from a 2700 mile trip and the trike was perfect. No wobble and steers
like a dream

No special words of wisdom here except keep trying to you solve it. If there is a wobble it is not because of a Goldwing Design problem. There is something else causing the problem. I know many run the Michelin Activ tire with no problems. I could have had a defective tire from the start. I was very happy with the wear I got from the Stone so I went back and very happy I did.

No experience with the problem on a Goldwing, but had it happen several times on Harleys. Without excepion, it was always tire, tube, or wheel.
