I am a new GW rider and I would like to know if we should be using chrome polish on the chrome coated ABS plastic parts on the Wing.

Thanks.

Use Honda Spray Cleaner (or similar product) and the chrome on ABS will have a great shine.
Best stuff I have found to use. Quick and easy.

The only problem with all the quick detail BS is it doesn't last.

Well, let me check myself. It lasts a long time if you clean your bike once or twice a year.

A good coat of carnuba takes abaout three minutes and really protects the finish instead of just creating a shine, and it'll last many, many real washes, unlike the quick detailers.

Guess it depends on how you want to keep your bike.

Check your local Yamaha dealer.......

Check your local YAMAHA dealer. I got their equivalent of the HONDA spray cleaner (it's exactly the same formula.......even SMELLS the same) and it was $6.00 CDN a can as opposed to $9.99 CDN for the HONDA stuff.

Putting wax on will eventually show fine scratches in the wax!
Honda's spray cleaner/polish is not as good as it used to be!
I use Windex and a micro-fiber towel on all chrome
