any input on CO Rd 8 from Yampa to Buford and the Newcastle/Buford road.....looks like a nice detour.....any of it paved? I'm thinking it's fairly hard packed and not excessively bumpy or dusty????

Snowmark, Yampa to Buford is fantastic for scenery...but not on a goldwing. I'm not sure if the road is even open yet because of snow. I know it wasn't a couple weeks ago. You go over Dunkley Pass and Ripple Creek Pass and on to Buford. The road is paved from Meeker on county rd. 8 for about 30 miles but that is it. You are next to the Flat Tops wilderness area. Now from Bufford to New Castle it has been many years but I am positive it isn't paved either. Part of county rd. 8 is in Routt Co. and the other is Rio Blanco. Their road depts. would know the condition. Hope that helps Fire-151
