I have a chance to go to my inlaws place between Creede and Lake City on Sept. 18th for a week. Would love to drive the GW, but am hesitant about weather conditions at that time. Any one ever do much riding about that time? Do not want to get snowed in. Never been on a bike in Colorado. Any info would be great. Thanks Eddie

Come on out and bring the bike with you!!

September is the best time of year to ride the Rockies with the Aspens changing colors and the usually dry weather that time of year it can't be beat.

It'll be cool in the mornings and evenings so layer accordingly unless you have heated gear.

That's a beautiful area to ride, you're going to have an awesome time, unless you don't bring the bike....

Then it'll just be an o.k. time.

What podo says, the weather is not bad in September in Colorado. Lots to see in that area. We live about 100 miles west of Creede and have family there. You won't be disappointed if you are on the bike.
