For those take their lap top with them when they go a trip, what do you do when sitting outside to eliminate the glare so you can see the screen?

There are glare shields that you can purchase for your laptop. But the most cost effective and well... obvious... way is to turn away from the sun or find a nice shady spot.

I carry my laptop on every ride. We usually try to find a nice cool Panera Bread restaurant when riding in the summer in Texas. It's too dang hot to sit outside anyway... and Panera has free wi-fi. :)

That said... Best Buy and even Wal-Mart sell anti-glare screen protectors for your laptop for @ $20-$30.

The only time i use mine is when in the hotel, BUT other times I just change position so the glare from the sun is gone.

Now that I have weather on the Zumo 665, I don't feel much need to break out the laptop during the day.

But I had probles with my aircard this last trip and endded up using wifi a few times at truckstops for work emergencies. I was surpised at the pay wifi racket at truckstops.

Most all of the motels that I stay at have WiFi, and a lot of the restaurants do too.
I use mine in the room where it's nice and cool after a long days ride.

I don't know, I just recently got a Motorola Xoom and its great for motorcycle trips. It's always with me. If sunlight is a problem, I just move till its not a problem.

Turn around, so the sun is on the other side.

Don't need to pay for wifi to see the weather. Why pay for what you can get for free, and isn't bloated with tons of other stuff on a web page. Animated radar is what you want? Animated radar is all you get... Change the last 2 letters to your state. As it is just an animated .gif you can store them as bookmarks on your phone, and leave the computer in the trunk where it belongs on a bike trip.

Well I wanted to make this motorcycle related that's why I said MOTORCYCLE. Actually I'm in my travel trailer sitting outside enjoying the beautiful day by the marina and I tried to use the lap top outside and that is when I noticed the glare, I never take it on the motorcycle. Thanks for the suggestions

Since it is getting so hard to do work on my laptop while riding, and texting, and making calls all at once, I wait for a shaded rest stop or a restraunt to do all that.

You need a double ram mount to hold the laptop on the handlebar.

Be careful how you set the baker wings so the wind does not close the lid when you get into the LH lane.
