Does anyone with an '03 have a coolant guage that shows higher temps since new?

Mine is currently at the first marker above dead center. It always was at the first marker BELOW dead center until this past summer during my 7000 mile ride out west. I changed the coolant back in the spring with no problems. Again, it was fine until somewhere in Montana on the way home.

Befuddled...AG GL

A buddy of mine had a similar progressive problem with his RV, a tech told him to spray the radiator with degreaser and power wash and it solved the problem.

It might be worth a try

Also if when you changed the coolant you may have not gotten if back totally full, it is a pain to have to let all the air burp out of the system. It took me over and hour to get if really full again. Good Luck

Thanks all...I'll double check the level then follow up on other suggestions. I've also found that the fans are running when they shouldn't be.

The fans are controlled by the ECM which is getting engine temp info. from the coolant temp sensor. Probably normal operation when it is running above the middle line.
