Cooler Rack

Did not like the Cooler hitch options out there. Too close to the exhaust. I mocked up a stainless hitch adapter and a cooler holder. Little bit of welding and some paint and I have a place for the cooler in Sturgis this week.

I used to use a hitch rack before I bought a trailer, it worked quite well. Things I learned, keep the load as light as possible, mount it as close to the bike as possible to prevent it from bouncing. Have you had anyone follow you with that rack mounted, I'll bet it won't stay still, may even slap the trunk. Putting a full ice chest on it will make it even worse. Seriously have someone follow you on some rough roads, Best of luck.

That is what I was thinking. Good idea, but it will put to much weight up high. On a rough road, it will be moving around. Just the normal play in the hitch will cause it to move a lot by the time you get to the cooler. Hope it works for you.
Nice work, but I have the same concerns as the previous poster. I would take quite a bit of the height off your rack. I built my own rack also, and I did raise it a few inches (about 2 1/2-3 inches). You want to keep your center of gravity as low as practical.
