OK got it, sounds logical enough, I just never thought of using it since it's always on the center stand when parked.I use it every time I park. Never parked any of my bikes in N. This one has to be in N, so I set the brake.
And spend the $79 on Fred's mx vids. The series includes a vid on properly adjusting the parking brake.
If your spending money get EC's parking brake interlock. It will prevent you from engaging drive if the parking brake is on.Definitely get Fred's videos. Money well spent!

Fred's videos + Service manual = Success !
I watched a couple of videos and this really helped spell out my first adjustment very clearly.
Folks continue to pose questions clearly explained in the owner’s manual. . .
Make sure after the adjustment the wheel will spin free with the P/ brake off.The cable adjustment is ONE thing, pads adjustment is SECOND thing. If you don't have Fred's or heavy weight service book, YT has plenty of good guys showing how to. Its really not hard for all levels of knowledge....I promise🍷. When you are done, double check with the 3-5 clicks, if she is locked. And, watch the YT you had chosen again, to make sure you didn't forget anything. The nut that locks the stud pressing on the pads needs ONLY 13 f/lbs. Double check that. GIVE YOURSELF A BRAKE
