Hartco Pro Tour Saddle seats are being offered on Ebay by Porkydog (seller) at reserve price of $400. Does anyone know if this is legit or if there is anything that should be known about the seats before bidding. I'm 6'2" 230 lbs and 30 inseam. He says I need a seat 180-230 lbs built for 31-34" inseam. It will break in at a little lower height. Anybody have any helpful input allowing me to make a informed decision? Thanks, Vic.

I bought my first one AND second one from him. Both were good deals, IMHO!

seats

I called Hartco before I bought mine.

Hartco said that the seats were legit and that the dealer had bought several, from Hartco and was selling them on ebay.

I bought one, no problems.

The same guy owns Hartco and Diamond, so I would expect the seats to be very similiar, except for the cover design. The model, "Big Boy" has been used, in listings for both brands.

Re Ebay seat

I too have bought one from Ebay a couple of years ago and Yes it was a great deal. I have it on my bike now. Can't imagine spending $ 1200 for the same thing.

The only problem that I see is that it won't be custom-built to your height/weight/inseam. I have a Diamond but Mike and Mark modified it 3 times for free until it fit.

seat

Bill,

Nice looking seat, that looks a lot like the one I got.

For the $700 dollar difference, I'll live with the non-custom.

I'm not that particular anyway.

If I can't live with it, I'll sell it on this site and make someone else happy.

Besides, I ride a couple of Harley's, custom would only confuse me.

no matter what hartco lied to you about

saying its a dealer thats selling them on ebay

its false

its hartco selling them them selves

they dont want you to know, since you can buy the same thing for half of their asking price

how do i know

i purchased a valkyrie hartco recently

the rear seat was the wrong version

emails and pms went unanswered

so i called hartco direct

since the name and the number were on my paypal that i sent them

at first i asked for that person and they denied any ebay knowledge

so then i ask, why their name and this phone number were on my paypal

well then some studdering and i was transfered to another person

and then we got down to the issues

so yes its 100% gautenteed to be hartco them selves selling the seats on ebay

and they have been for over 2 years

i also purchased a gl1800 seat from them two years ago

both the goldwing seat and the valkyrie seats were just nice

and real bargains

but take it as it is, they are selling backdoor for about half of what they usualy do out the front door

but--these are premade and no personal features, sizing etc

i paid $525 for a goldwing hartco

velour , and back rest, also had cover for pass backrest, and memory foam

an absolute beauty

at the time, they were at $925 with shipping if i ordered it from the normal hartco channels

a month ago i got a valkyrie interstate seat on ebay for $300

its marine grade vinyl, comes with rear valk seat, and also with drivers backrest, and pouch

would have been about $700 with ship through the normal channels

both are brand new, and spotless

no not a mismatch or a second at all

at least not that we could find

the valkyrie looks great with this seat,a nd the butt likes it as well

I always assumed it was Hartco/Diamond selling them on eBay. But, I figured it was returned items or seconds or such. Guess not.

Although the seat I bought is top quality and I have no real complaints, I do know that they weren't honest with me in the transaction. For that reason, I will never buy from them again even though they build a fine saddle. I just can't do business with someone I don't trust.............at any price.

And, yes, I did call and talk to the owner, each and every time. :D
