While riding between Charleston and Georgetown today, I saw two billboards about "reporting DWI to the police." The picture was a trooper sitting on a motorcycle. For all the world, it looks like a 2012 Goldwing.

Don't know about SC, but I do know that Oklahoma State Patrol has a Hyabusa or two in their fleet ! I guess they got tired of those CRAZY WING RIDERS out running them?

They say they are for parade duty and for showing at the various fairs here in the state, but I HAVE seen them on the road a few times.

The motor officers have all three brands. But they use them differently.

Traffic enforcement is done with the BMW. Quite a few of them.

They use the Harley and Wing for escorts, parades and affairs under public eye.

Not so many Wings, just a few, mostly up around Greenville and closer to NC. The state troopers have the Wings, the county boys have the harley.

The BMWs are also state.

A large percentage of the state troopers in Arizona currently ride BMW police models of the RT.

They may or may not be based in Greenville. I saw couple of them up there a few months ago. But they might have been there for court or this or that. Training, something.

Mostly the BMW and the Harley. Counties have the Harley and some a few cities have them.

One of the Columbia city officers is really good in the slow ride competition. If he shows up might as well not even try. He has a Harley.

University of Arizona PD has been using ST1300P versions. I just saw a Tucson Police Department ST1300P just last week. Additionally, other PD in the vicinity are either ST or BMW-based.

It would appear that the H-D police bikes that TPD just picked up a few years ago they're giving up on.

SC Troopers

My understanding is that the BMW fleet is being replaced by the ST 1300. Upkeep cost seems to be the main factor. The stock bike is fast, but the police version is out of sight. N_I_C_E!!!
