How a weld looks and how a weld holds are two different things. Until someone does an X-ray on them, then who knows how they are. Now, from a "how does it look" standpoint, well, there is no argument.
you gotta be kidding!!!How a weld looks and how a weld holds are two different things. Until someone does an X-ray on them, then who knows how they are. Now, from a "how does it look" standpoint, well, there is no argument.
+1. not much else to add. Looks like crap.Looks like a bad weld and subsequent crack on a 2010 Honda Fury Chopper?4:
Benign plus a few notches of indifference. I have my reasons for being grouchy.:wrong:
I'll bite, is that a picture of "benign neglect"?

Sorry, but the tube does meet the "neck". The neck may even slide inside the tube. But, like I said, how the weld looks and how the weld holds are two different things. It looks like garbage, no doubt. But all of the metallurgists and certified weld inspectors on here are saying it is going to fail just by looking at a photo. If this is what the final product looks like, then Honda is in deep doo-doo. This bike is a joke anyway as choppers are dead. Honda says this is a "first time buyers" bike. Sure, everybody buys a $14,000, 1300c.c unit for their first bike, don't they?you gotta be kidding!!!
If we are both looking at the vertical tube, take a look again, the tubes don even meet. I wouldn't buy this...
It's the Fury alright.....Hal,
I think we all agree it not only represents poor quality as far the how it looks, but also poor quality control and possibly a bad weld in general.
Do you mind telling us exactly what this is a picture of (bike make and model) or are you showing us a pic of an OCC frame weld and trying to get us all going?
Just checking...
