I never realized that chrome was so hard to photograph :eek: :!: :eek:

By the looks of those pictures, it appears you need to remove the piece of Honda chrome from the top of the forks/fender area.

are the clamps ON the rubber fork seals or below them?

The clamps shaped to fit the top of the lower fork tube. They cover part of the fork seal, but do not touch it.

I haven't heard of a successful way to do it. Until I do, I'm not willing to carve up a perfectly good OEM part that will need to go back on the bike should I ever sell it.

In the last 10,000 miles I haven't missed the OEM guard...no dings on the fork tubes or more bug splatters than before.
