I was finishing up the winter maintenance on Ol' Yellow yesterday, when a last inspection before putting the plastic back on, I found the drive shaft boot bad.
Now granted, that is something I don't normally check regularly, but I was also looking for a bolt that went to never-never land. The boot was split between the center bellows on the inside ( toward the center of the bike).
Ol Yellow is a 01 with 50K miles. Lucky for me, I have the extended service contract until 08. The dealer said 2.7 hours labor. At $75 bucks per hour, the service contract looks pretty cheap now....
Just a heads up for those with bike nearing 50K miles....Check it out......
