OK, I have a 2720, have downloaded the POI loader...

When installing some custom POIs, is there a way to also install custom way point symbols??? as in Honda sign for tthe Honda delaers, McDonalds sign, etc....can I install them into the batch of Garmin's way points for later selection???? When you take a custom poi and add it to your favorite list, is there a way to have the name of the poi transfer over, all I get is a waypoint number.


easy on me, know enough to get into trouble, but not enough....so don't get to fasr over my head :lol: :lol:

kyblue, Garmin's Ximage does allow some modification of waypoint symbols. I have only changed my splash screen and have not played with the waypoint symbols so I can not offer any more help than to include the following from the Ximage help file.

Compatible Garmin GPS units contain a limited number of customizable waypoint symbols. These waypoint symbols are numbered starting with '000'. xImage displays a list of all your unit's available customizable waypoint symbols. You can only upload as many customized waypoint symbols as your unit allows.

Also Ximage only works with certain Garmin GPS units and I am not sure if the 2720 is one of them.

Make your custom symbols the same size as the orginal symbols with the same color options. Look for the Garmin folder with the custom symbols in it. Replace those with the ones you made up. You must keep the same names as the orginal symbols. Just rename the orginals old XXX.xxx and then rename you new ones in the same order as the old ones.
