Durability of the black finish?

Hello all,
To owners of bikes with the black finish on the engine and heat shields and frame etc, how well does the black finish scrub up after a few years and miles?
I have only owned Goldwings that have had the chrome finish and they have both stayed looking great, I was wondering how the black compares.
Thanks, Rob

For sun fade, my 2018 looks fine...garage kept.

For cleaning, I agree with @TPL ....but unlike chrome, takes less post wash wipe down and doesn't show every spec and spot (I have a HD Dyna with chrome...takes longer to clean the Dyna than the Wing)

If it is a big concern, Cerakote is the best trim product. I've used it on my truck and been extremely pleased.

Here is a link to the Project Farm test results for trim restore / back to black

Thanks for the reply, you have touched upon my main concern, whether the black engine etc retains its “blackness “ and doesn’t fade.
