E3 Poor Mileage Tire Rebate?

So, I had new E3 tires put on my bike last summer. I thought the performance and mileage were okay, but recently noticed the rear tire was at the wear bars. I thought, What is that? 15,000 miles? That's okay. When I did the math, I found the rear wore out at 6,800 miles. The front is near the wear bars at 6,000 miles. When I looked closely at the front tire, there is dry rot cracking in the bottom corners of the tread! What the heck? I just ordered a run flat CT for the back and a Metzler for the front.

Now, my question ...

Can I ask, or HOW do I ask, Dunlop for a rebate or a refund on these tires? THAT is not normal wear. For the records, I ride solo most of the time, commute to work on this bike almost daily, checked the tire pressure about monthly and set it at 41 pounds front and back.

THERE CALLED "DUNFLOPS " FOR A REASON :surprise::grin2:I GOT 18,500 OUT OF FRONT ON OLD BIKE. NEVER TRIED BACK ALWAYS HAD WONKY TIRE ON REAR. WHO YOU BUY THEM THRU ?
I bought the tires from my local Hobda dealer. Headed there this weekend with store bought tires from TireRack and Wing Stuff.
I like to run a G709 on the front and a E3 on the rear...have run at least 4 sets of this compo and have always gotten 15K miles from this setup riding mostly two up.

You are joking, right!? 15,000 miles on a rear GL1800 MC tire and you want a low mileage refund. I have used rear MC tires down to the cords, including E-3 and never got much beyond 12,000 and that was with babying them. Typical life for B'stone or Avon rear tire for me is about 8,000 miles if I baby them.

I went back and read your OP again -- I see that it was only about 6000 and the front has dry rot? Wonder what your date code is on that tire?

I have 10K on my E3s and it looks like I can get a few thousand more out of them. I am going to give the new E4s a try and see how they perform. If I can get 10K out of my tires on the wing I am happy. I am pretty hard on tires and summertime in Arizona can really test a motorcycle tire.
e3

i got 15000 out of my e3 and it wasn't the multi tread I was happy with the tires and put on another set . my buddy has the multi tread and has 13000 on his and they look like another 5000 easy. I wish i had gone with the multi tread , but i like the 70 series and it doesn't come in the multi tread, but if my friends tire does 20 G i will be switching. i defiantly would be asking for an adjustment on the tires if 6800 is an actual mileage, good luck !!
Hmmm. I'm going on my 3rd set of elite3's and have got between 14k and the present ones 17k. I found hat if I run dyna beads I'll get about 5-7k more out of the tires. I like the Avon cobras strictly for handling but barely got 10k out of the them
