RT, great putting a handshake on ya while in Knoxville finally. I have had great results with the Pengel Shifter. 118K miles and still clicking. http://www.pingelonline.com/eshifter.htm

It was a very easy install, however I would suggest not installing the electronic interupt feature.

Don't really see these on Craig's list or Ebay a great deal as far as used go, but might keep an eye out as ya never know. Good luck and give a holler if I can help. Hope we cross paths again sometime down the road.

Wheels,
Why don't you like the interupt feature?
Over the course of being on this site, I have been conjtacted by a lot of folks asking for information. On several occassions, I spoke with members who had installed the electronic interrupt feature and after a few thousand miles had transmission problems. I did not install mine fron day one as I wantedn to expereince clutching and shifting. Thhis equipment was originall made for the racers and they need to pound through the gears and after a race if the transmission is shot, well, they build another one. Me, well, I would rather do it the old fashion way.

Wheels, does it down shift just as easily as it shifts up? Also, does it easily go into neutral? what happens to the pingel if you hit the brake for a sudden stop and are in gear...do you have to pull the clutch then?
Yes, either direction it works fine. Getting nutral can be a little tricky at times as you need to "bump" the buttons rathern then a hard push. On those occassions where you get cuaght quick on a stop, I pull the clutch, and brake, and then as the situation allows, I let out the clutch, "hit" the gear, then pull the clutch back in, down shift with the Pengel, then left the clutch out and "hit" the gear until I am down in first. As much as possible, I use the engine while stoping and down shift accordingly.

Caem, that is an great offer. Looked high and low and was not able to find anything on craig's list or E-Bay.

Good luck with the project Rolling Thunder:thumbup:
