They really do work! I bought a vest and a jacket last summer, went through Vegas, and with the sleeves on the vest, I was almost cold. I wore a mesh jacket over the evap cooling jacket / vest and was much more comfortable than if I hadn't had it. It easily lasted for at least 200 miles, or more.
