You'll get an answer from Bike MP3 but they've just finished up WingDing and are on the road back to Florida so, unlike their normal instant answer, there might be a few days delay in responding.
I know it is taking awhile but I think he had a lot of orders to fill. I like the form factor if I can just get it to work. I know it is something stupid that I overlooked, too.I would like to help here, but I ordered my radio on the 23rd of March and have as of yet even received a tracking number let alone the radio. May have to cancel my order.
Glad to hear your installation went OK. I know mine is something minor. I just need some guidance.Installed my new Evolution CB today and so far everything works as promised. In fact, the install was a real breeze, didn't even have to take the seat off! Drilling holes in my trunk is always nerve-wracking, but I just started off small and stepped up bit sizes until I got to 3/8", all with no trouble. And, yes, I did get the notice on the wire mod, no big deal. I will be eager to try it out on my ride to Nova Scotia next weekend.

Check ALL the fuses in box especially the lower right bank regards of what they are listed asI installed my new Evolution before leaving on a 2-week trip. It was messing up my Nav unit, resetting and changing the zoom level. Plus an annoying whine in my bluetooth receiver. When instructions came to modify the cable before installing, I was concerned. I disconnected power and the data cable and my Nav unit started working properly again, and no whine.
I got home a couple days ago and made the modification to the cable. I immediately got the "CB Error" message and the Nav unit wouldn't work. Hopefully I am not screwed. We'll see if/when Pete responds. Being on the road makes sense, so I'll give it a few days and try again.
Thanks for the patience sometimes with new products you don't find the bugs however much you test until you get it into the widespread market then as in this case the fix for the first issue cascaded to cause the second.Well, I got a second module the other day and it blew after a half hour. I notifed BikeMP3 and told them I was about to give up. Nicki told me they identified another manufacturing defect and asked me to try another module. I just got it this afternoon and will install it tonight or tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted on how it works out.
I will say one thing: No one compares to BikeMP3 in customer service. And, as far as the bad modules well, it's a new product and sometimes you get these issues. If my experience helps others down the road, it will be worth it.
I hear ya, Pete. If this was software, you could just call it a "feature".Thanks for the patience sometimes with new products you don't find the bugs however much you test until you get it into the widespread market then as in this case the fix for the first issue cascaded to cause the second.
I am assured by the team that all is good to go now which will disappoint my FedEx guy no end who said he was about to retire off us in the past few weeks
