I have owned two wings that I purchased "both" brand new (zero miles on OD) 2002 / 2010 and purchased the extended warranty, for both of them.... and I never used the warrantee on either of them... Am I just lucky, or is it the reason that I baby my motorcycles? and do preventive maintenance, on all my vehicles... , way before it's due.....

Has to be some luck as not all things that can go wrong won't just because you baby the machine.

I bought my previous 08 wing used in 12. The PO had the Honda care warranty so it came with the bike (so nice) and 3 months before the warranty was up the preload adjuster on the shock stopped working. The shock was $1,100 and RR was $400 would have been a $1,500 bill without the warranty but didn't cost me a dime.

The 5 year HPP (Honda Protection Plan) extended warranty including roadside assistance retails for $1190.00 However I can offer it to you today for the low price of $770.00. When I picked up my 2021 Tour in January, I had a quote in hand from Blue Ridge. At closing, the last thing the finance guy went over was how important the extended warranty was and had a whole sheet showing the different yearly options cost, all the way up to $1495 for the 5 year plan with roadside.

I let him do his whole song and dance and when he was finished I pulled out the email quote from Blue Ridge. I told him if he matched their price I would buy from him, otherwise I'd just do it on the phone with Blue Ridge. Took all the wind out of his sails....

Grumble, grumble, he matched their price.

I only used the extended warranty once on my 2009. Had a broken trunk hinge and bad rear speaker harness replaced at 110,000 miles. However, with the complexity of a Goldwing I think adding the extended warranty is prudent.

Chloe at Blue Ridge power sports took good care of me. I sprang for the 5 years with RSA for $770.

I just think for the sake of complexity the new gen GW carries, around 800.00 for 5 years with RSA is a good and extra insurance. I also, know riders in my group with older GW who never used the extended coverage. The all strongly recommended me to get one....

I wholeheartedly agree. We buy insurance for home, health, and auto... with hopes of never having to use it. But the cost of not having it makes it worth the price. If that were not true, there wouldn't be any insurance companies.

Bought mine from Blue ridge as well for 770, after a long discussion on another thread about the viability of buying from an "out of state" source. Learned that Honda doesn't care WHERE I buy their extended warranty. Happy to have a total of 8 years of coverage now. One of the best deals on the planet.

I used my extended warranty on my 2015 a couple of times....once for the TPMS and for the NAV screen about 1 month before it expired. All they offered was 4yrs at the time I bought it. I think I paid $800 for it with RSA. The times I used it more than paid for itself. My 2021 will also have the extended warranty before the factory warranty runs out.

Sure its a Honda warranty? Bet not…..I don’t think Honda would let them markup their OEM extended warranty.
Many dealers try to sell warranties from 3rd party companies that tout better coverage…….I would never get an extended warranty other than from the OEM manufacturer.

I bought my bike at McKibben Honda here in Florida. They offered me a third party warranty when I bought the bike. They had some slick posters and brochures that touted the great price and great coverage of this warranty. But I'd already been reading this forum before I bought the bike, and I knew better. Glad I bought my official Honda warranty a couple months ago from Blue Ridge Powersports. Pays to read the forum...
