Wisconsin Dells Fall Ride In
2019

Come join us in the Wisconsin Dells October 11th thru the 13th. We will be staying at “Black Hawk Motel”.
We are booking in rooms 32-58 if that meets your needs, however all the rooms are close enough.

Reserve now from their Home Page @ www.blackhawkmotel.com. Book by phone @ 1-608-254-7770. Tell them you are from the Goldwing
group.
Many people start to roll in around noon on Friday and several of us meet at Monks around 12:30 (220 Broadway, Wisconsin Dells, WI 53965)
We have a lite lunch (not always lite) and begin socializing.

After lunch we normally return to the hotel to check in and begin catching on everything that happened since we got together last. Dinner on
Friday is on your own and most group up and go to one of the many restaurants in the area. If you are new to the area most anyone can
recommend places and will most likely invite you to go with them. We like to spend time Friday night visiting with the people at the hotel
and discuss possibilities for Saturday rides or talk about things that have happened since our last gathering. Remember this is a very informal
gathering. The only thing that is actually planned is breakfast on Saturday. You can do whatever you wish. The roads in the area are very nice
riding and the scenery can be beautiful.

Saturday morning we gather at Paul Bunyan’s Cook Shanty for breakfast at 9:00.
We will meet in the parking lot and collect the money for breakfast and issue tickets to you. We will then go in and pay and assure all is ready.
Then we shall enter as a group at approximately 9:30 and begin the strenuous task of filling up on a hearty breakfast and sharing some information
about rides that some are going on and any other interesting activities that may be happening in the area.

Several attendees plan rides to various areas and we will announce them at breakfast. If you are interested in a ride to a certain area ask around
and find a group to ride with. We usually try to keep groups to a size that is safe. If you are interested in a particular ride or destination and
there is not one available to that location, there is most likely someone who has been there and can will offer routes that take you through
points of interest. Many of our group members are very familiar with the area and lead some fantastic rides. Once back at the hotel we usually
decide where to go for dinner. Many people have their favorite places and some go to the casino for their buffet. The casino has a shuttle
service for those interested. This is a relaxed unstructured gathering. Just a time for new and old friends to visit swap stories and lies and
enjoy each other’s company. If you are new to this event please do not feel shy. We were all new to it at one time and you will soon be another
member of our family.

It does not matter what you ride. We just ask that you ride safely.

Sunday people begin packing up and saying our “good byes” before heading home with pledges to meet it again at the Spring Ride in !!

This will be the first one I will miss since it began. I have been having some issues with my knees and hips. Result is I am needing to replace both hips and both knees. Successful first step yesterday. First hip replaced. Doing fine hip feels much better and pain level is way less then before I had it done. That is very promising to me. I am hoping to push through the rest over about 2-3 months. We will see. Doctor was saying 6 to 8 weeks before next one, but after the first one and me being able to go home 13 hours after the surgery he said we will talk about it on the 15th which is my post op review. :excited:

Unfortunately I won't be making it to the Dells this Fall. We rented a house on the Gulf in (LA) Lower Alabama Orange Beach right down the street from the Florida panhandle . Beautiful area, my wife loves it so, my kids are coming down my sister is driving up from southern Florida with her daughter even my dog gets to go we are driving with the pooch and kids are flying down we'll be gone for about 10 days.
Hope you guys have nice weather in Wisconsin that weekend sometimes it's pretty warm then. See you in the Spring.
I'll be headed South that weekend instead of North.

Bob I sent them the dates for the Dells before Christmas so they would be sure to schedule around it. The letter they sent back said they would try to leave the schedule open that week, but if they couldn't they would schedule Michigan which they felt was like a by week. (Just saying what was in their letter.)

Well, it probably won't be me. All depends on what this crazy weather is doing to do. The nice 60's weather has disappeared from the forecast. Now we're looking at cold rain and snow showers around the time of my planned departure. :frown2: :eek:4:

I'll get there, but it probably will be later than what I originally planned. Definitely will not make Monk's for burgers at 1200. :frown2:

:doorag:

Fun place. We went there a few times. I believe it is owned by the same people that own Moose Jaw.
