Well, I've got my first warranty work coming at less than 500 miles. I was demonstrating the foot warmers to my wife. This is the absloute first time I ever tried to open and close them. They both opened, then when I moved the control back the left closed, the right stayed open. Investigation found that the right control cable had disconnected at the spot where the one cable coming from the lever y's to two cables. There is a plunger inside a plastic housing that has two recesses where the cables attach. Honda shop says it has to order a complete new assembly. Is this a known problem? Anyone else had this happen?

Thanks,

foot warmers

Hi KG...don't know if it's a known problem but mine and others don't close fully...they stay open a tiny bit when they should be shut all the way...I assume an adjustment is needed but I'll worry about it later...ride safe...

Adjustment is easy. Remove the front cowl and there are two in line adjusters. One for each side. I don't think any close properly on delivery but make sure you don't over adjust. I did mine until I couldn't make them tap any more and then backed off a little.

While you have the front cowl off, there is a bolt on the lower RH side near the fog lights and this bolt is loose from the factory. Put the clamp in the right place and tighten bolt "snug" then the RH side work perfectly.

Had to do mine

Yep, same problem here. Left side does not close completely and lever does not stay against stop. If I manually reach down and push door shut as moving lever, it stays fine, but not with lever alone. Little warm on foot in summer, but winter comming, so will work on next spring. Hopefully not worth taking in for warranty. Just as soon fix myself. Harry

My lower cable seperated where the two cables go into one and the go up to the lever. I loosened up the door adjusters and removed the left fairing pocket and disconnected the green cable retainer. This will allow you to seperate the lower cable and fit the two back together. Then hook up the green retainer on the lever and adjust the doors with the adjusters. This is not a hard job. If you feel you can, give ot a try, otherwise back to the dealer you go...

I had the cable replaced at the dealer today. It took them 55 minutes while I waited. I think I could have done it, but for this kind of money and only 500 mi. on the bike, I decided to let them do it.
