I had a Honda Fog Light Kit installed at the time of purchase of my scoot (March, 2002). A bulb burned out on the right light. The dealer says it's covered under warrranty as long as its' a Honda and it was installed at time of purchase.

So far, so good, right?

WRONG!!!

The bulb Honda sent didn't fit-they've apparently changed the design or the supplier of bulbs because the "new" bulb won't fit in the "old" housing. The slots in the round base below the glass part of the bulb are shaped differrently. Honda saya that's the right bulb-it MUST be 'cause that's the one their computer tells them it is.

Dealer ordered a whole new light kit. Should be in at the end of the week.

Anybody else experience this?

Harry,

The 35 watt bulb Honda uses is a slightly different base than a normal H3. Have not heard about a midstream change....seems kinda crazy.

Lewis,

That's the theory the dealer put forth. Me? I could care less so long as they fix it under warranty and if that takes a whole new light kit, so be it.

Seems kinda funny that the replacement bulb they got was FROM Honda and Honda's computer says that's the correct bulb.

As they say up north, Go Figger........
