Welcome to the best 1800 board on the net. You will find just about all the information you need right here. Lots of good people who are glad to help and welcome any advice and ideas you might have.

For those of you who like many of us are having a hard time getting comfortable on your 1800s, take the link in my signature below for ideas on how to do so. It took me almost two years to make it right and maybe this will help you get there faster.

Good luck and enjoy the ride.

My Main Man Dan.
Yup, because of Dan, I added various items to my '03 1800 that help me alot. I'm sure it took Dan lots of time in testing all the products that make riding our Goldwings a pleasure.

Thanks Again Dan

Dan, I just wanted to thank you for your link to getting comfy on my GW. I've used several of the suggestions and it has worked very well for me.

I don't what parts are broken / not working right like before your accident, but heres a link for some shoes that I've used since my reconstructive foot surgery. They look a little "different" but I'm telling you I can walk all day as I need to in my occupation and still have no foot, leg or back pain as they take all of the impact out of each step.
Hope you get better fast. We'd love to see you and yours out here for Rockies Gold :D

Dan Dan you the man. I've enjoyed the friendship we've developed over the years and we can thank our good friend Jim Mick for that. I go back to 2001 with you guys and I am glad it worked out the way it did. Thanks for everythig you've done for us Dan.

Are you walking yet? When can you come out and play? Can you come over and grill?

To emphasize his more height-specific mods,
here's what Dan looks like riding:

And this is an average-sized human (Toyo) on his bike:

And my mods in action:

And here's Wonder Woman:

She is the best thing about riding or anything else for that matter. She has gone through this ordeal without one word of complaint about all the extra trouble I've been. I can't say enough good stuff about her.

I'm glad it was helpful. There is a place here in Atlanta that sells those shoes. They do look like they would be great. I'll be on my feet all day if I ever get back to work and I think I'll try them out. Thanks.

I wish. The only vendor who actually knows me is Jim Mick and he says he only makes enough money for one person to lose.

I am walking...for the most part without a cane. I don't have a lot of stamina and there is significant pain, but it's getting better every day. I can come out and play if it means mostly sitting. Grilling sounds great. We still want to have the Mafia over to grill if we can figure out a date.

Hi Dan,

Ah yes, the progression. Wheelchair, Walker, Crutches, Support Boot and one crutch and then a progression into walking. Each step (no pun intended) takes time.

I still have the big old support boot that velcroes on. It is for a big foot, never wore it without a sock, if it turns out that you have to buy one let me know and if you would be interested I will send it to ya.

This is truly an awesome board. I've been lurking for a while and have made a few 'fluff' posts, but it's the information I am acquiring that is truly what makes this a great board.

Thank you all! :D
