I had Fred Harman (Fred H.) do a Traxxion Dynamics front and rear shock upgrade for me. Wow, what a difference.

First off I want to give Fred a huge thank you. He was awesome to work with. Nothing against Max at T/D, Fred was just closer to me. And it turned out to be a great choice.

One example of what Fred did for me is that he straightened out all of the mistakes that the dealer, where I bought the motorcycle, made when I had them install a C/B radio before I picked it up, (screws in the wrong places, push pins missing, etc.) Plus Fred finished the project in a day and a half.

Holy cow, what a difference. I had everything possible done to my 2002 Gold Wing. T/D shocks, fork brace, bearing, modified low triple tree plus this, that and the other thing. It was a huge improvement for the 2002. Well, I'm more impressed with the Traxxion shocks on 2018 than I was with the old Gen. 6

The main difference from the OEM to the T/D is that the new shocks hold the line better. Just riding on the interstate it stays on track better. Doesn't move around when I ride over bumps or cracks in the road. It's incredible. The first 5 min. on the motorcycle I could tell the difference.

Now into the mountains. This is where the new suspension really shines. There is no comparing the OEM shocks to the T/D shocks. It's just better in every aspect. No more wheel hoop, the rear tire stays on track even when you hit a hole. The OEM suspension made me feel like the bike wanted to stand up in a hard corner, not now. And it turns into a corner easier and stays put.

I was skeptical at first that it was going to be this much of an improvement, but it is.

Awesome product Max and thanks Fred for a great install. Send Fred a P.M., he can tell you how good it is.

Greg,

I had traxxion system on both my 2010 and 2014 GW....although the bike rode great....I could never look someone in the eye and tell them I notice a significant difference....I am not bashing traxxion....I am still thinking about putting it on my 2018....

The question for you is...and I do not mean any disrespect just trying to understand...I am a very small guy...148 pounds...how large of guy are you....why I ask is I wonder if I do not feel the significant difference in a traxxion system because of my size....

Would size not make a difference...? I would think since the system would be more tasked with more of a load on the bike...

Greg....Fred...any thoughts here....

This package is not for everyone. At a buck forty-eight, you would not get the same results that I did, I'm 240 lbs. But I (I) still think it will make a difference to every Motorcycle.

Hope this helps, ever in Denver, you can ride my bike. That would tell you a lot.

And I must add to @Lab Rider comment:

I ride my Tour DCT 100% on mountain and canyon roads in Colorado (I'm 170lbs, I don't carry passenger or pull a trailer) and beside the fact I didn't notice any of the suspension problems that have been mentioned by @4 Pt. Roller , does the Traxxion suspension make the ride any harder/firmer ?

I normally ride with suspension set on "rider only" but I notice immediately a decrease in comfort when I set "rider + luggage" since the suspensions become more firm.

Thanks

If you are close to Denver, Come ride mine. That will help with your decision. Remember guys, I'm not a salesman for Traxxion. This is my personal OPINION. And it really works for me.

I planned a 8000 mile summer trip from Key West to Nova Scotia via the great lakes and back to Key West.
On my way north I booked to have the full TD suspension upgrade done at the TD factory.
After riding about a 1000 miles to the factory, I wondered if the upgrade was really worth the money , the new GW suspension rode well.
The full suspension modifications are expensive and I was seriously thinking of phoning TD top cancel the up grade.
Fortunately I didn't , I arrived at TD factory and 4 hours later my bike was totally transformed. The suspension up grade is fantastic.
My route north zigzagged through the Appalachian mountains, fast freeway sections, and rough broken sections of secondary roads .
The Gw with the TD suspension upgrade was a totally different bike , nothing in the 7000 miles upset the handling of the bike, high speed sweeping bends, slow speed twisties, bridge expansions, really poor road surfaces , nothing , the bike is so stable.
Im back in Fort Lauderdale, and day to day riding over rail crossing , manhole covers concrete motorways is fine thanks to the TD suspension upgrade.
Thanks Max for a great product

This is a VERY important observation, that is directly related to safety.

For anyone who rides curvy roads:

When you sense your bike is trying to stand up in a curve it means one thing, and one thing only:

Your bike is completely, totally bottomed out, and there is no available suspension travel left at either end. At this point centrifugal force is trying to make the bike stand up and fall to the outside. because there is no suspension travel left to absorb the increased pressure on the shocks.

It should be clear that this is unsafe. If you hit bumps with the bike bottomed, it can start a slide, a low side crash, or it can force the bike to skip over to the outside of whatever lane you are travelling in.

This is directly caused by the soft springs and lack of damping in the OEM shocks.

Modified suspension parts are no longer under warranty from Honda, everything else is.

Then again stock suspension rarely fails to do what it was designed to do, so you'd likely never have a warranty claim on the suspension anyway.

Whether or not the stock design is good enough is another question entirely, but it rarely has a defect that warranty would need to cover.

I'm not disputing your findings, however I'm running stock and drag pegs all the time I run this wing hard like a sport bike and it has yet to give me a pucker factor. I'm already having to replace my pegs because the outer edges are just gone, I'm low enough that even my shoes lightly touch down, the young guys are not used to seeing a wing on their tail.

If folks are not happy with there stock stuff then step forward and get the upgrade, I rode a wing that had the Traxxion stuff and yes I will admit there is a difference.

Do to your bike what the wallet allows.

Not sure if I am agreeing or disagreeing with you but dragging pegs isn't really a good thing IMO.

Stock suspension allows the bike to squat in corners. This reduces clearance, and then you begin to drag things.

Better suspension will give you much more clearance in the corners and you won't drag a peg as often.

The way I have my bike set up, if I drag a peg, I've probably taken the wrong line through the corner. I can choose to drag and sometimes the corner is tight enough that it's needed, but I rarely drag these days.

I used to drag everything on stock suspension.

Btw...I've still got a 2013, but principle is the same, dragging stuff means you are running out of clearance, given the same corner speed, dragging less is better.

Max, thanks for the quick response. Now I'm torn: fix the seat issues -- or look at the suspension. Anyone have suggestions for winning lottery numbers I could pick for the next MegaMillions?

Now, why would I give you my winners,
