I have a 2610 that has progressively gotten worse at "locking up". If running a route it switches to the manuel zoom in or out mode, loses the tab info on the right side of the screen and will most of the time will not give, nor show turns needed. The picture will also often shake from side to side about 1/8 of an inch. If left in this position for 5 or 10 minutes and then the page button is pressed it will normally restore operation, if only for a split second. If it does not restore normal operation, it will not move to the next screen. Or, you can manually zoom in or out and then press the page button which sometimes restores operation. It does this with the original 128MB Scandisk card as well as the 2GB Tosiba card. Any ideas? It is still under warranty. How does Garmin do their warranty? Do they send you a rebuilt unit or repair your unit and return it? How long does it normally take? Any other info I need? Thanks!

Your best bet it to just call Garmin. Your unit obviously needs repair.

Garmin turns the units around pretty quickly, once they receive it. If you are in a hurry, then send it to them over night delivery, and ask them to send it back the same method.

As far as repair or replace, they get to decide which is more benficial to them. Either way, you should get the latest software installed by Garmin.
