I really thought long and hard about installing one of them. What stopped me was that they are NOT waterproof. That is a lot of $$$ to gamble if they ever get wet. I have seen a clear sky when entering a restaurant and then when I got back outside it was pouring. Same thing while riding & that is why I went with the Garmin 478.
I bought the 7200 streetpilot for my wife's christmas. $1,400 was
what I paid. She wants to put it on back of my backrest to navigate
and watch movies while we travel. The part I like is the FM transmit
that puts it on your bike radio. It has xm but it took me years to pay
for TV. Like my grand mother said "who's going to pay for canned biscuits"
I'm sure I'll pay for xm someday, but not yet. I told Darlene what it cost
and said I would take it back. She said she'll keep it. I try not to ride in
the rain but will make a quick release for stow away. The touch screen
is big enough to work while she is moving. :yes1:
