42 most of the time. Not really effected by the amount of load on the bike. Strange, alone or 2 up pulling heavely loaded trailer there is very little differance.

Cold here is anything below 60.

Your profile does not say where you are located. There are a lot of variables. I have 114K on GL1800's I ride reasonably hard and average about 37 mpg per the odometer. In cold weather, you can expect about a 5 mpg drop. In the summer and in higher elevations you can expect higher averages.
ok, was thrown out in general! pgreen-there are a few aftermarket interface boards to correct the speedometer inaccuracy at around $100 price range. Try a search on speedometer. I am in NJ, was trying to determine if it is better to lug around 2000 rpm, or stay around 3000 rpm for better milage. Of course the 3000 rpm has faster response.
