when i fill gas tank first 10 or15 miles bike stalls and quits running open throttle all way and clears up

Does the back of your bike get covered with black soot? Do you smell fuel? Do you fill the tank high up into the neck?
If so you are over filling the tank and filling the vapor recovery canister with fuel which then creates an over rich condition.
The tank should only be filled to the bottom of the neck. Hope this helps.

You guys must REALLY be topping off the tank. I fill mine to within an inch and a half or so to the top every time and have never had a problem.

yup..what they said....bike stalls after filling..then open throttle and clears up is definitely overfilling the tank and filling the vapor cannister. been there done that. just fill to the bottom of the neck like the ol owners manual says to do.

I had a 02 and now a 04 and I fill them both the same....to the brim and I have never had a problem......knock on wood.
