My brother Dave and I met Roger (Wingjammer) yesterday. After several emails and phone conversations we finally teamed up. We accompanied him over to Streits Power Sports in Gainesville where he had a defective speaker replaced under warranty. Hats off to those guys, they had Roger's bike in the service bay within 5 minutes and were through in less than 30 minutes. I didn't even have time to spend any money on farkles. From Gainesville we decided to head down to Gator Joe's on Lake Weir for their "all you can eat shrimp" special. Shortly after a fuel stop in Citra, Dave comes on the radio in a panic, he smells gas very strongly. He's left his gas cap on top of the pump back at the station:22yikes:. After the gas cap caper we procede without delay. What an absolutely gorgeous day for a ride, the high temp reaching 77. Gator Joe's was pretty busy for a week day. One guy just had to be different, came in a float plane and parked on the beach. After several re-orders of shrimp (4 for one guy:shrug:) it was time to head back. We took 314 through the Ocala National Forest, lots of hills and curves.
I'm sure everyone's met Roger but let me tell ya, this is one cool dude. A very friendly and likeable guy. We look forward to more rides with him.

Thanks for the compliment OBT. It was MY pleasure to have finally have met you and Bro Dave as well. The day was custom made to order so far as temps, food and great riding company. I still can't post the pictures you emailed . What happens at Gator Joe's, stays at Gator Joe's, so the reorder of 4 all you can eat deep fried shrimp individual's identity is safe with me. I was really impressed with the treatment on the service @ Streits.

I suggest the gator tail philly cheese John.

Joe’s Gator Philly

Our seasoned gator tail smothered with mushrooms and onions, topped with melted provolone or American cheese.

On Lake Weir, John. Just a few paces east of Ma Barker's gang hideout.

Gator Joe was a 15 ft. 7 in. alligator that lived on Lake Weir in the early 1900s.
Joe caught his fame from the Ma Barker gang who tried to kill him on several occasions; but, Joe ultimately got them instead. His local legend led the FBI to the Barker hideout on January 16th, 1935 and after a 4-hour gun battle the Barker gang all lay dead. In 1952 Joe crossed paths with a local gator hunter named Vic Skidmore.

Do you ever wonder what they do with frog's arms...???

We always saved them for cat fish bait. Growing up in South Louisiana frog legs were a staple food for us. We would let the arms sit in the sun for a few days to get good and ripe then hook them on trot lines and haul in the catfish.
