Hi all. My friends '03 Wing is in storage here in MN. It is on the main stand, yet it has a puddle of antifreeze under it. Obviously, has NOT been ridden all winter, nor has it been started. Any ideas as to why it's leaking antifreeze while stored?

WAG !!! but I have seen this as a common item on a wing and other water cooled M/C's over the years. Winter cold contracts the metal pipes going into the hoses and also contracts pipes that have o-rings and you get a little drip that adds up from your pressurized cooling system that may collect on the floor or in engine compartment and you smell it after you run it but can't see a leak. In reality it may never leak in the warm weather or drip again while it's warm, Heat will expand the metal and MAY seal it up, but may do it again when it gets cold. A psi check would tell you it has a leak. It IS a LEAK !!!! but some riders just ride it & don't worry about it if it shows no fluid in warm weather.

At the age and mileage of a 03 should be a clue that it may be time to get way in there and tighten hoses or replace them. they get hard and crusty over time. It is kinda of a way that tells you it is time to do some maintenance!!!! Your decision..

Best to do it while it is cold enough so you can find where it is exactly, but while you are that far in, common sense tells you to do them all . It is a fairly difficult job to do all and $$$ also. Good luck let us know what you find.. or not find.. Again DECISION time!!
