I had to start a new thread because the old one was from 2012.
This is the problem, the link arm gets bent if too much pressure is applied. Easy fix, see pictures.
My shield is nice and tight again!:grin2:

Any idea how the link arm got bent ???

Things that I can think of ... a non-OEM (fat) windscreen, or an incorrectly installed windscreen holder, or incorrect slide tape ???

No, it was on a bike I bought not long ago and I really did not notice it until reassembling after a new shield and to repair the up/down ratchet mechanism for the shield. (it was stuck in the highest position after I raised it)

I did notice that the front of the bike was noisy when hitting a bump and it was the loose shield making all that noise.
It obviously comes from too much pressure on the locks for the shield and that link has a small radius so any misalignment will have a large impact on the ability to hold enough pressure against the shield.
