GL1800 Wiring Harness splices.. Engine Coolant Temp Sensor - Open Loop to ECM

Has anyone had to open up their Main Harness to remedy an open circuit in the Engine Coolant Temp Sensor path to the ECM ? I was wondering where the best place to start to open my 04 Wiring Harness to fix the Yellow/Blue and Green/Red wiring that appears to have gone open during engine install. Used engine I just installed runs very, very rough due to lack of temp sensor input. I think I may have caused this when I placed the Rad hose that feeds left/rear Rad OVER the MAIN Harness, instead of under the blanket and harness. I fixed that today, but still no loop to ECM from sensor it seems. Gauge wasn't working either so I changed out 06 sensor for 04 sensor today. Will test that tomorrow as well as troubleshoot open wiring problem. Thanks Steve

Steve, I found the thread I was talking about. Turns out his was close to the split where the IAT sensor and the baro sensor are spliced into the green/red ground. Here is the thread. A splice like this one is shown in post #31 and White2006ABS finds his bad one around post #49.

I put in the ECT from my 04 motor and reseated the connectors after ensuring continuity all the way to gauges and ECM. I now have Temp gauge working and runs good at higher RPM. Need to set up the low speed in morning. Won't stay running. May take the throttle out and clean it out too. I still have spare 06 throttle, but it has an extra connector and device, so would not want to use it. Thanks, Steve
