Does anyone know how to remove the storage compartment lid? I am talking about the one directly behind the gas cap

If you are referring to the cubby containing the USB connector you have to remove the top shelter and center instrument pane.

The lid itself is held on by a long hinge pin with a circlip on each end, and a spring in the middle. To remove it you would first have to pull off the top shelter to access it. Then you would need to remove a circlip and pull out the hinge pin and capture the spring in the process.
